Story/Preface:

This is my 2D shooter starring my little cat character as small alien journeying through the stars a defeating foes to rescue its friends!

  • Level 1 features the rabbit
  • Level 2 features the skateboard frog
  • Level 3 features the pink space cat

I designed my levels to allow for exploration, but to ultimately guide the player to the other characters to provide the feeling of purpose in the game, you're defeating robot enemies to save your friends!

Modifications:

I largely focused on the aesthetic aspect of design. I have created 30+ different pixilated artworks for the game including

1. Animations:

  • Player animated to my own character, an alien-cat with changing lights on its spaceship
  • Rainbow player fire

2. Environment/environmental décor:

  • Color theme: vaporwave rainbow
  • Teal environment rock space- color pop
  • Stars (6 colors+ emotes)
  • Planets(10+)
  • sparkles
  • Characters: Alien-cat, Space-bunny,  Skate-frog, Pink Space-cat

3. Level Design:

  • Each level are designed to increase in difficulty, allow for exploration, and to ultimately guide the player towards the characters where the final enemies lie to beat each level.

4. Main Menu:

  • Cover art- I designed a cool picture depicting a fierce alien-cat blowing up evil space-bots, I thought it would be a cool way to draw attention to the viewer, create a fun inviting title screen.
  • Altered main menu button to match my scheme.

My goal was to create something aesthetically pleasing, something fun, cute, and colorful. For me, it's the presentation of a game that can really set it apart from others.  I wanted to create a colorful and exciting experience for the player as they venture into the spacey little world.

Created by Zoe Rasico

(All of my art and characters originals, hand-drawn by me, although I want to give a notice that the frog character is my own version of my favorite frog drawing- original artist unknown).
